If The Time Goes Forward

Remember with series program of the Quantum Leap movie, about the machine time?  My favourite scene was when Dr Sam Beckett was taking the place of other person, and he had to decide whether changing its person behaviour from wrong to right, or make it worst.

I was imagining, what would I do if I was given a chance to heretofore? Obviously, I want to be better person.  Unfortunately, only Dr Sam Beckett could do that.

There is other movie as well that has been inspired me as to moral of the human beings. Have you seen The 12.12.08 Is The Day The Earth Stood Still? Made in 2008, Played by a handsome actor, Keanu Reeves, and a stunning actress, Jeniffer Connolly. And I tell you the truth; I saw this movie just a week ago.

Two scenes have knocked my heart on this movie: first scene was when Keanu presaged Jennifer that alien soon would take control the earth as according to information from other aliens that there hadn’t been changed in human’s behaviours  ( I was interpreting it as that human beings have never learnt).

As soon as she heard that shock news, she claimed and begged him: “Give us a chance, we can change!”

Second scene was on the last moment when Keanu attempted to stop the chaos, and gave the human beings a chance by saying that: “human beings would only change on precipice”.

Other movies such as The Happening and The Day After Tomorrow have also similar background and purpose in presaging this is what going to happen if human beings irresponsive with their place, earth.

The Yahoo headlines news yesterday was telling about how we can react to the impact threat, in responding of Asteroid impact warning to the world. Do human beings can only change on precipice, just like what Keanu has said on his movie?

Last night on October 30th at 24.00 a.m., time goes forward in Ireland. I wish I could change, anything, from wrong to right, just like what Dr Sam Beckett did, before it’s late...

The Invasion Of Free Online Gambling

Sunday, October 31, 2010 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Gambling is always great fun even for those who don't know about gambling. Perhaps that because of most gambling is modified in such as fascinating modification games look like therefore even kids would enjoy the benefits of gambling.

Just like fashion which always finding its new style and never ended by epoch; gambling always appears in its new features.

In the epoch technology like now, gambling seems easier to be accessed by technology such as internet. People with no understanding at all about gambling, just like me, could easy to find about it in a minute through internet.

I didn’t really know at all about gambling things, not until I saw my hubby played online poker. It was an interesting game when he taught me how to play it. I then start to surf on the internet about gambling, and here are my findings:

Gambling apparently has a different of gambling types. Other finding is there many sites offer online gambling which a good thing for me to practise how to do it. I find also such as a free online pokies, which is very new to me.

Luckily, I don’t need to register to play this free pokies, which is I assume it’s a very good offer. The online pokies’s site also provides lots of free games.

Well, not all gambling is very bad. It depends on how you manage and select the whole things about gambling. I’m very enjoying my new free online pokies without worrying lose money.

Too Good Too Bad

Saturday, October 30, 2010 JS Hanniffy 1 Comments

Talking about Indonesia is constituting a heavy topic as there are involving too many conflict of cases e.g. politic and religion. Luckily, I'm not in the mood to talk about two those things.

Let's talk about comparison between good and bad about Indonesia, and here are my findings:

1. People

Too good: Go to wherever places you like to go in Indonesia, most of Indonesians will welcome you with warmth smiles. You'll be grateful how lucky you are to be parts of this very fascinating social life.

Too bad: Do not ask them to obey the law. In driving particularly. If you really in emergency and need a driver, you'd better ask about his driving experience before your life ends on the road.

 2. Foods

Too good: Find anything vegetables in Indonesia. Most all healthy foods grow in here. You'd be in love so much with yourself as you don't need a hard diet program to lose your weight.

Too bad: There are no specific laws for selling foods. I mean most everyone in Indonesia  is allowed to sell foods or vegetables without a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certificate needed. Beware of this!

3. Shopping

Too good: They're very cheap. Obviously, because Indonesia has so many manufactures. Buy whatever you want except the original of European brands e.g. LV, Gucci, Prada, etc . From diamond to handmade, you will be surprised finding how little money you've spent.

Too bad:  Unlike in western country which customers mostly welcomed by equal attitude from staff. If you wish to shop in a luxury shop such as Plaza Indonesia, assure you are in a good performance.

Other thing is too many staffs in a shopping mall. Don't be confused between staff and customer.

4. Friendship, Love, and Marriage

Too good: They are very warmth people. You're lukcy to have them as your bestfriend, as somebody who you love. Life with good friendship and love,  you find a scene of Bollywood movie on this stage.

Youngs, adults, and senior people, are very good at describing that marriage is a good thing. You don't need a counsellor to know about what marriage is. Just discuss it with a 23 year old young girl.

Too bad: Make friends, being in love with someone, and account it very quick into a marriage, are the most uneasy things to do Indonesia.

Did I say about  divorce? Yeah, therefore, perhaps, because of these things are too easy, Indonesia is listed on one of the highest ranks in divorce cases.

Things in life sometime happens unexpectedly and so suddenly. If my mother would say: It's a destiniy of God.

Believe that what has happened is God's destiny might help us to be more stable standing for the future. But there is one question seems very amusing: Does God want bad things happen to what He has created?

Keep its answer for yourself as I don't invite you here to argue about believers or non believers.

Through my blog I'd like to give my deep condolence for the victims of volcano, earthquakes, and tsunami in Indonesia. May strength give them a power to have a new life.

......In Healing

Friday, October 29, 2010 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Life had been so good for the past 15 years, and we thought it would be forever. The offers when life was so good very tempting, we cradled in the swinging of luxuriousness life, and we just forgot what happened in the past life, when life was so bad, when people died from hunger, when no sufficient welfare for children and women, life was just so terrified and horrible.

We thought that we did learn from the past, because we were too proud of what we got, as we thought it was immortal, didn't we? Unfortunately, we learnt nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.

Above is a thought  scene of mine towards what has been going on in Ireland.

I have never feel so irritated by news or other things; in fact, enjoying to wacth it with a cup of tea and muffin beside my hubby. I guess not now anymore. Why do you want to hear something that always the same, anyway? "Change it to another program, please" is my response when he'd like to watch the news.

I'm not Irish. My thought above was coming automatically, feeling the same way as what Irish people have felt about the situation as it all impacts to everyone whom live in Ireland.
I'm not Irish, and I do care about what's going on in Ireland. But I have nothing to help you as I need a help myself.

They say we need to be together in this situation. I say: Why? "because together we're better". It's indeed a powerfull of words to hear in this horrible situation, good words to be mentioned from officeholders.

But we don't need words. Why should we bear the bad things while we've been good at paying taxes?

It's not healing on my body or my mind, neither my heart: maybe not yet. Before this happen, I and you need to learn....

Unspoken Words

Friday, October 29, 2010 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Some people say writing is great to express our feelings while words abandoned by repression of something that makes the words unspoken and suffer in silence. It is great feeling to be able to express our feelings freely, and not to worry about seeing other people reaction of what we say.

But, hold on. I always concern about what reader would react to my writing. Perhaps therefore what makes me recently stuck to write on my blog although the ideas already on my head (tempting to write about psychoanalysis subject, but then goes in to a draft and after 200 words have been typed, just like other posts that ended into a draft), as I always consider about reader responses.

Unlike good writer whom able to structure their writing perfectly: -they generally able to describe their aims, the methods that they use, the conclusion, and able to critizise the issue on their writing- mine is just  too far from that.

This post is just a beginning of my recent lost words. Hopefully this post would deprive my unknown nerves of writing.

StereoTypes - How could it Influence Our Social Life?

Saturday, October 09, 2010 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

I'm very sure most people unconscious or consciously posses an experience of being a stereotype. What does a stereotype mean, exactly? A famous psychologist Cardwell in 1996 defined Stereotype as a fixed, over generalised belief about a particular group or class of people. Stereotypes usually appear in a negative impression, and  have a 'we're better than the others' mentality as well as like very much to compare their differences to others like "Us" and "Them" therefore stereotypes often refer to racisms -- or infer about a group are all the same. For instance, presumably, you have a bad experience argumentum about religious with one of members Gorontalo Maju 2020; and presumably, most of members Gorontalo Maju 2020 are religious people; in this case you attempt to give a shout about other religious. Some members give an 'against' reaction of yours. According to this, you might start to think that all Gorontaloness posses same thoughts and attitudes regarding other religious. This stereotypical is leisurely found when you infer that they differ from you.

In Social Psychology studying consider that the way of our thoughts, feelings, and behave are influenced by other human beings; and stereotyping apparently has a strong affection in how we think, feel, and behave. A recent phenomena from my own experience happened when I read an ads board of supermarket saying "Because we're Irish"; it's just an advertise, however, uninvited thought came to my mind like this: "so I don't need to spend my money on this supermarket as I'm not Irish" --- it's a joke. This ad, however, apparently not just influenced my thought-joke to this ad --- others had shown his unhappiness to this ad through a free newspaper. I try not to think whoever put the ads attempt to think differently about others as they know that many immigrants also shopping on that supermarket. But others seem have different perspective of significance to its ads.
In 1933, Katz and Braly researched regarding Racial Stereotyping to American university students. The aim of this study was to investigate the Racial Stereotyping attitudes of American students towards different ethnics. They concluded that ethnic stereotypes are widespread, and contributed by members of a specific group. The research was done from 1933 and repeated in 1951 and 1967. The results found a bit alter from the former result.

Although this studying not ground for a major reason of people behave, think and feel, however it gives a big influence of impression about being different from others in a social life. I’m now thinking about something else --- the influence of stereotyping in antisocial behaviour; I try, however, not to state that antisocial behaviour exists because of stereotyping? But it seems to me that stereotyping play role on people become more aggressive. An unacceptable attitude from a group may be increase aggressiveness towards a deniable.

I’m thinking --- How a social world in a country would be if these stereotypes owned by official holders?
