Happy Birthday Bertuah - Pekanbaru

Sunday, February 28, 2010 JS Hanniffy 22 Comments

If you think nothing special with a blog society --- you’re wrong --- online activity such as blogging in fact has a positive impact in the blogger’s atmosphere. Many bloggers began to create a society of their local bloggers, and even a local till centre govern in Indonesia has given a special concern to the activity of bloggers.

First time ever in 2009 Indonesian bloggers had created a big event in Jakarta, and made especially for blogger; that was a huge event as almost hundreds of bloggers from different provinces attended the event. You may envy if you see the event; as you would not believe how these bloggers --- although they knew each other through blogging--- have created an enthusiastic of activity, and even a new life.

You can find many blogging societies in most provinces or some of big cities in Indonesia. Most of them start their society by an inspiration through a gathering; for instance Bertuah. Bertuah was born on 28 of February in 2009; the first society blogger of Pekanbaru that ever had before; inspired by youths of Pekanbaru and then followed by creating a small structure of organization.

Nothing is spectacular to say about Bertuah at the moment; it’s only a small society, which was started and knew each other through online. However, there is something interesting to talk about regarding Bertuah. Most people who first create Bertuah are very simply people; yet, their mission is attempting to promo the culture of Melayu in nationally and internationally.

Who are behind this society?

There are some very creative people in Bertuah who have participated to build Bertuah from the very beginning till today. Unfortunately, I don’t really know them very well, but the site that the most I visit is Nan Limo who is I assume he’s a very dedicated and intelligent boy. In his very young age; he’s cleverly spent his spare time to create a very interesting blog. Yet, his other interesting creativity is books charity. He’s not just given positive impact to himself, but also many other people as well. What an interesting boy.

I hope more Indonesian youths ---whether blogger or not --- they can more create a positive activity such as NanLimo.

Through this post, I’d like to say thank you to Mario who is already nicely tagged me an award of Bertuah's birthday -- Thank you Mario.

Happy birthday Bertuah --- all the best to you.

4 Easy Steps How To Get Money From Blogging

Friday, February 26, 2010 JS Hanniffy 2 Comments

Many blogger still don’t realise that they can get good income while blogging; sometimes even they know already about this they are just lazy to do it --- I do a bit survey to some bloggers who often to up-date their blog --- and most of their answers is they’re just lazy to do it, although their blog’s rank is good enough to put in a blog advertiser. They also think that is quite difficult as the review has to be in English, and also they say because too much hazel need to be done; is that really what you think about reviewing a product?

To get a job while blogging is as easy as you start your blog at the beginning. What you need is only your motivation to keep developing your blog to be qualified blog.

1. Build your blog

Don’t think about a difficult subject when you think about qualified blog; think about something that make you enjoy when you write it. Some bloggers start their blog from an online diary; they write about their daily life, poetry, recent news, etc. Just keep writing, and see how you get on with your blog.

2. Submit your blog to advertiser

If your blog already have some posts, then try to submit to an advertiser such as Sponsored reviews.

Some advertisers have specific requirements in a blog; make sure you’ve checked all the requirements before you add your blog to their website. Usually their requirements are only about rank; so if you already had rank -- minimum page rank is 1--- you may add your blog; but remember, every advertisers has different requirement; so make sure you read carefully all the information needs.

3. Scam of advertisers

Anything else that you must know is be very careful when choosing advertiser. Read the whole information before you add your blog; particularly in the payment section. Avoid advertiser that seems bizarre, particularly in the payment section.

I will recommend you to take only advertisers that have a short distance in the payment such as Sponsored review.

Sponsored review

Sponsored reviews is a great advertiser, and I think this company is the most favourite advertiser for most bloggers. To get review from Sponsor review, you need at least page rank 3 and your blog has to be in English. Your blog will be rejected if it’s not under requirements.

Another great thing from sponsor review is the paid is pretty high ----- you can even bid your price until $ 500 --- WaaW! also, if there any advertisers like your blog, you will be contacted by them to review their product, although you don’t bid them.

4.  Paypal account

Having an account Paypal is another thing you need to know to get this job.  It’s so easy to create account Paypal. Go to Paypal’s site and then follow the instruction how to sign up.
After all,  enjoy your blogging and get the income ^__^!

The affections of deleting some posts

Wednesday, February 24, 2010 JS Hanniffy 2 Comments

Hey bloggers,

Phufff ---- finally I’m able to write again in here. Missing so much my online home --- JengSRI.Com ^__^.

Just after editing the post about Psychology, I decided to delete some posts on my posts in Bahasa; I found in IP address tracks that some people (Obviously, they're Indonesian) have been searching some old posts on my blog.

As I’m currently attempting to change this blog from personal blog to academic blog; so I’ve decided to remove all posts in Bahasa; I haven’t removed all the posts in Bahasa tough as I avoid the decrease of my blog’s rank if it downs quickly. Some of unimportant posts have chosen to be removed; so I’m really sorry for those who were already nicely coming to this blog and left some comments; I really appreciate it. Because of you this blog has a good page rank ^__^.

I know by deleting some posts on my blog that will be decreasing a bit the rank of my blog and certainly the total of the post; and no increscent in Google traffic after all. That will be a hard work for me to increase the rank as I don’t do blog walking a lot as most bloggers do ^__^.

Salam bloggers,

Bingo! What A Great Game!

Sunday, February 21, 2010 JS Hanniffy 1 Comments

Bingo is a great game, I really enjoy it. It’s so nice to play both with your friends and also on-line.

For those of you who don’t know how to play the game at the start you get a card with different numbers on it. Then the bingo caller calls out the numbers at random one by one. If the number that is called is on your card then you mark it off.
The winner is the person who is the first to mark off all the numbers on their card. When the person crosses off the last number they then shout “bingo” to let everyone know that they have won. Usually there are also prizes for being the first to get certain sections or lines of your card marked off first.

Bingo is also very famous for the special calls given when certain numbers are called out. For example if the number 66 is pulled out of the draw the caller will say “clickety click” before then saying “66”. However most regular bingo players will know which number to mark off on their cards from the first call, before the actual number is called out. Other examples of calls are “two fat ladies” for 88,  “legs eleven” for number 11 and “buckle my shoe” for 32.

Composition And Division

Thursday, February 18, 2010 JS Hanniffy 4 Comments

Unlike other fallacies that the logical of the sentence is right, which mean there is no mistake in the logic of sentence; however, the sentence of the composition and division appear in a logical mistake.

What exactly the composition means?

Composition is when the conclusion of an argument depends on the erroneous transference of an attribute from the parts of something onto the whole; all the parts of X have the property Y. Therefore, X has property Y. According to this composition is not fallacy.

Here are some examples of the composition:

“All the parts of this machine are light. Therefore, this machine is light.”

“Each player of this basketball team is an excellent athlete. Therefore, the team as a whole is excellent. “

And this is similar with Division too, which is the conclusion of an argument depends on the erroneous transference of an attribute from whole onto its parts; X has property Y. Therefore, all the parts of X have the property Y.

Examples:

* American Indians have reservations in every state. The Navaho are American Indians. Therefore, the Navaho have reservations in every state ===> Logical mistake.

* Molecules are in constant random motion. The statue of Liberty is composed of molecules, therefore, the statue of Liberty is in constant random motion ====> fallacy composition

There is some statement mix with some type of ambiguity.

*The travel brochure states that walking in O’connel street , the statue of Parnell comes into view. Apparently that statue has no trouble getting around ==> lexical and syntactical.

Next post about argumentation and logic is fallacies of defective induction.

Type of fallacies

Thursday, February 18, 2010 JS Hanniffy 1 Comments

Identifying fallacies is one of the important subjects in studying critical thinking.  To know what type of fallacies there are in a statement, you need to read deeply and carefully each word in the statement as every word may give a different meaning. To understand each word in a statement and link them to what type of fallacies they should be may not be easy; therefore learning the type of fallacies is to make you easier in identifying a statement; whether the statement is good or bad argument.
The type of fallacies can be divided into different type such as below:
1.       Lexical (Equivocation)
The fallacy of equivocation occurs when a word of a phrase is used in two different senses in the argument.
Here is an example of equivocation:
“Some triangles are obtuse. Whether is obtuse is ignorant. Therefore, some triangles are ignorant.
“Any law can be repealed by the legislative authority. But the law of gravity is a law. Therefore, the law of gravity is a law. Therefore, the law of gravity can be repealed by the legislative”
From the examples above the fallacy of equivocation the ambiguity can disappear in another language, which means the meaning of it can be different if it translates in different language.
2.       Referential (Equivocation)
This fallacy is also similar with lexical; no clear reference. It to responds to what we say.
3.       Syntactical (Amphiboly)
The fallacy of amphiboly occurs when the arguer misinterprets an ambiguous statement and then draws a conclusion based on this faulty interpretation. The grammatical rules play roles in the cause of fallacy of amphiboly; it’s correct but it’s ambiguous, which means the whole things have different meanings.
For example:
“John told Henry that had made a mistake. It follows that John at least the courage to admit his own mistakes”.
“I love candy more than you”.
According to the examples above the claims have shown two different of meanings.

Magazine For The Modern Men

Thursday, February 18, 2010 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

When looking at a killer men's magazine, there are certain components that a reader looks for when viewing a particular publication. For the most part the pictures in most men's magazines tend to be very stimulating however in the new millennia; men are now more sophisticated with their taste in magazines and want something more than just merely some "Smut".

Especially in the current state of affairs with our economy, the reader is looking for a magazine offering the best advice on dating, secrets of love, celebrity biography, relationships, health and financial tips. The best men's magazines out there that cover all of these components and give the reader a purely exhilarating experience has got to be both Maxim magazine and Hustler magazine.

In the world of men's magazines, Hustler magazine and Maxim magazine have filled a niche in discussing the various aspects of manliness and men's lives that don't get covered anywhere else. Believe it or not, even in the digital world we that live in - there's still a huge demand for magazines.

For us men, magazines help pass the time in the waiting room at the Dr.'s office and when stressed out, provide additional relaxation when you're sitting upon the porcelain throne. Men's magazines are definitely something we are eager to receive in the mailbox every month. This is the reason why I have particularly noted Maxim Magazine and Hustler Magazine.

While other publications such as Sports Illustrated, Popular Mechanics, and Surfer Magazine concentrate and are designed around only one demographic, Hustler Magazine and Maxim Magazine give us a wide breadth of information pertaining to the many of life's initiatives and aspirations we come in contact with every single day.

Action Potential

Monday, February 15, 2010 JS Hanniffy 8 Comments

As I’ve already posted in the communication with neurons; neurons receive signals through the dendrites, which is it can be received from another neurons or a sense organ. The Nucleus or nut is responsible for the production of ribosomes, small structures that are involved in protein synthesis.

The nucleus makes a decision based on the information it gets through the dendrites. This information derives from ribonucleic acid message (mRNA), which receives a copy of the information stored at the location; if it needs to pass on a message it then creates and release the action potential. The signals message that sent will go down to the axon.

The action potential reaches the synapses at the end of the axon and neurotransmitters are released. Neurotransmitters are the ways neurons pass on the message.

The passes massage of the axons can be measured by electrical measures. To measure electrical charge, you need to use a pair of electrodes. Electrodes are electrical conductors that provide a path for electricity to enter or leave a medium.

Signals between neurons can be electrochemical in nature. An electrochemical signal that passes down the axon is called an action potential.

Before a potential occurs an inactive neurons contains positively charged potassium ions (k+) and large negatively charge protein molecules. Outside the neuron there are positively charge sodium (Na+) and negatively charged chloride ions (CI-).

Here are some commons that occurs in action potential:

• Membrane potential, the electrical charge across a cell membrane; the difference in electrical potential inside and outside the cell.
• Oscilloscope, A laboratory instrument that is capable of displaying a graph of voltage as a function of time on the face of a cathode ray tube.
• Resting potential, The membrane potential of a neuron when it is not being by excitatory or inhibitory postsynaptic potentials; approximately -70 mV in the giant squid axon.
• Depolarization, Reduction (toward zero) --- see the table above----- of the membrane potential of a cell from its normal resting potential.

All potentials have the strength (amplitude) so the intensity of action potentials is measured by the frequency the potentials are fired at (a strong impulse firing a volley of impulses) and the number of neurons stimulated.

Note: More information can be found at the text book of Carlson, N.R. (2010) in Physiology of Behaviour (10th edition).

Nervous System Vs Webmaster tools In Google Tops Search Queries

Saturday, February 13, 2010 JS Hanniffy 5 Comments

Hello blogger,
I’m still enjoying the Google webmaster. How’s yours?  I know you will like it. For those who wants to know how to get webmaster, please click in here.
Today I just want to write about my little traffic improvement. My Google webmaster tools has shown a slight bit enhancement in its traffic. Yeay! I try to follow every steps that written in Google webmaster tools.  Here is the improvement of my blog traffic  (click to view it);

It’s the same previous table that posted on my blog yesterday; but different results.  This result is just taken today; the keyword of webmaster tools is only written three times in the same week, but it’s almost reaching in the top of top search queries (see the table above).
They key word of nervous system less percent than before, which was before 51 % of the other keywords in the top search queries on my blog. Still, nothing great yet on my traffic; but it has shown its enhancement little by little. And remember, I don’t do blog walking a lot.
According to this, checking your Google webmaster can be advantaged to seek information how to increase your blog; and by looking the result that given by Google webmaster tools, it shows you which useful article can increase your blog traffic. Another advantage from Google is the robot.txt editing; you can also control which article on your blog appears in the Google searching. I’ll be posting about this sometimes.
Have a nice weekend!

Top Search Queries In Google Webmaster Tools

Friday, February 12, 2010 JS Hanniffy 8 Comments
Still in the topic about webmaster tools.
Have you already  sign in to webmaster tools? I’m sure you find it easy as you already familiar with these stuff --- And I’m sure you’re now enjoying the features from the Google webmaster tools.
Just like other Google tools; webmaster tools is so easy to do; and suitable even for intermediate computer users;  although some features  are required your skills such as editing the robots.txt; but I think it’s better if you are just focusing in easy feature first.
I myself begin with the section on your site on the web. This section is for analysing your traffic blog such as top search queries, links to your site, keyword, internal links, and subscriber stats. Each features show the details of what your visitors look for on your site. If you can only focus on this section, you will be able to control your traffic blog by seeing from the analysis.
Let me begin with top search queries; and have a look the picture below.

There is nothing great on my top search queries as  the highest query in the article is only 51 %, and it comes in the position 20 (see the nervous system).
The feature of top search queries tools is to show details where your visitors come from and what they look for on your site. It’s kind a feedget tools; but the top queries tools give you the record and the details in each click of your visitors.
I’m really enjoying the google webmaster tools.

How To Use Webmaster Tools To IncreaseYour Traffic

Thursday, February 11, 2010 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Heya bloggers!

I don’t usually write about this kind of topic on my blog as I’m not interested at all in this area. However, since I put back my blog into Alexa to know what’s going with my traffic --- and find out that my traffic is terrible as it is on the top of 2 million levels!! Oh no!!

Remember, that my traffic on Alexa was about in 400 thousand levels; that was counted in between August 2009; so how could this happen? Obviously, because I was off from blogging activities for a couple weeks; yet, I turned off the comment form. Since then my traffic drastically was down at the very bottom level!

Thank God that Google still caught every post that posted on my blog; at least it gives hope to keep continue this blog.

Now, I’m back again; even more motivated than before! And attempt to get back my traffic again!

So how do I get my traffic back?

I know you’re going to say: Do blog walking!

Yeah, I know. But, there is a problem to do blog walking; I can’t really spend my time on blog walking as it will waste my study’s time and works as well; to write a post in a day, and included a post review --- it’s already cost me time to spend it. Yet, I write an article as well in other sites; so, blog walking definitely will not suitable for me.

Off course, I will still do blog walking --- but, only a view bloggers I will be able to visit.

Anyway, there is another way to increase my traffic; it’s by updating my blog with a unique content. I’m sure most bloggers already know about this.

Also, using webmaster tool from your blog account will help the up to date the traffic of the increscent and decrement on your blog.

How to do this?

1.       Go to your dashboard – roll down your mouse to the bottom to tools and resources, and then click webmaster tools.

2.       Add the Url of your blog as many as you want.

3.       As soon as you add your Url, you need verify your blog by putting a code into your blog. To do this, you need log in to your blog: go to dashboard, click lay out, and then click edit html.

Some people find it difficult to verify the code into their blog. This is because some of them unrealised that there are two ways how to put the code; according to this, make sure you know whether your blog is using meta or html.

4.       If you success in verify ---- you’ll be able to enjoy the features of webmaster tools that given by Google.

I find a bit problem in a screen shoot; thus I can’t put a photo for the sample ---- I will be putting a photo of it in next post.

While waiting my traffic is up again; I will be enjoying write about Webmaster tools on my blog! Wait until my next post.....

I love this features! And I love Google even more!! Have a nice try bloggers!!
