Italy, I'm In Love (5)

Monday, May 30, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Florence is another place need to be listed if you visit Tuscany. It's located no more than two hours driving from Sienna to Florence. The beauty of Florence is widely known with its natural outlook. You will enjoy every steps on this place. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit Pisa where located just less than one hour from Florence.

Information to stay in Florence we got from a woman we knew in the wedding party. The hotel wasn't really bad and located right in the centre of Florence. With € 180/night we could get a suit room for hotel in Indonesia, but well, I forgot how costly it was sometimes to travel in Europe. The park hotel was also, for me, it was the most expensive car park I've ever known, € 25/night for normal car and € 35/night for a jeep!

Italy, I'm In Love (4)

Most people I saw in Italy, specially in Milan, they always very fashion and fresh look. The sunny weather manigfy how passion their appearance look like: their body languange and their ways of talking shown how passion they are for life, and it just seems so perfect.

We went off to a restaurant shortly after around the cathedral. Sitting in an outdoor restaurant while sunny with a bit breezy for lunch avocation observing its surrounding is very rare phenomena to have in Indonesia, so I and my hubby took this moment silently while waiting my lunch: none of us spoke.

Italy, I'm In Love (3)

Sunday, May 29, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

The night was hard to pass because of the heat, we didn't sleep at all and the result was deadly tired in the morning. The lads checked out very early, at 6.30 am, they were heading off to Barcelona for Music Festival, so only I and my hubby left in Milan. We ourselves checked out before 11 o'clock but left our lugages in the receptionist as we planned to around Milan city until 5 pm.

Around Milan

Our plan was first went to the nearest internet cafe. After half hour happy internet surfing we ran into the Central Station, which is less than 50 meters from the hotel. The building of the Central Station is very classic of italian building, very huge trail station, and located underground Milan city.

Italy, I'm In Love (2)

Dissatisfied with the castle short visits in the other night was finally paid when the lads planned to visit it. At 1 pm we checked out, left Tenuta and then drove to Sienna. The small town of Sienna as well as the view were absolutely fantastic. The car park was a bit difficult to find though, we found it about 2 km away from the castle, at last.

Italy, I'm In Love

Friday, May 27, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

I wasn't excited at all at the start when my hubby told me that we'd be going to Italy for a week holiday: Probably because I'll be going to Indonesia in June and before that I had two days holiday in Cork with some friends thus was bit tired for another holiday. But then I encouraged myself by thinking what nice it would be if I just go.

There was a reason to have a holiday in Italy anyway, it was due to we're invited for my hubby good buddy's wedding party so no reason for me not to come. Other than that, Italy is a very classic country!

Two things I love most about Italy before I went to Italy: first is its languange, the second is its foods. In fact, I love everything about Italy!

It's said on the internet how lovely the place of Tuscany is, I surfed the information about Tuscany, but not the place where's the wedding taken: it's a good surprise tough. We arrived in Bologna airport, two and half hours drove from the airport to Sienna.

From Sienna to Gambassi

We felt no tired at all on the trip, the views along the way to there were just so amazing and unimaginable: it's a heaven. Specially when seeing a beautiful apartements located in a spectaculer view backgrounds: surrounded by mountains, olives trees and with a lovey sun of course!

Sienna (taken at front of famous restaurant in Sienna)
tenuta quadrifoglio  (taken by hubby)

We spend three days in Tenuta Quadrifoglio, the place where was the wedding taken. The apartement had three bedrooms with one bathroom and all furnished perfectly: the kitchen specially! I could stay (even live!) in this place like Tenuta for long time or forever: it's too good to be true, said my hubby.

The wedding party was fantastic, the bride looked very well and of course pretty, and the foods in wedding receptions are delicious and remarkable! I haven't been in a wedding receptions with  three main courses for one and desert one in a row! It's indeed a spectaculer wedding.

Starter: A pair of pasta hearts

Second main course: Fish with mediterian vegetables

The day after the wedding party we headed off to a restaurant, which is I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but it's very famous restaurant and most local taxi drivers know the restaurant (as it's probably the only restaurant or best restaurant in Sienna).

We were served with a very nice dinner (again): two main courses, which is pasta and beef steak (finally the lads got steak!)

I asked my hubby for a bit walking after long talking with the lads, we head off to a castle. Unfortunately, we couldn't go through the places in the castle as we runned out of time. Times to went back to the apartement and had a nice sleep...

Say NO To Ageism

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

A very cacthing ads hanged on a dart station in Dublin, on my way to gym. A "Say No To Ageism" champaign will be held in Dublin from May 31st until  June 3rd. I soon put the date on my list agendum.

I concern oneself with this issue because I have been experienced: phenomenons of ages discrimination in Indonesia on number of fields, such as job and education are still common nowdays.

This issue, which I'm very critical with, brings me back to the past, a year where I was very young. It was in 1988's when a Madrasah Islamiyyah I went for learning arabic, instituting 'blackboard jungle', in bahasa known as cerdas cermat. The advice in general took randomly the candidates, and I, who supposed to be in junior group, was selected for a senior group.

However, they changed back the rules, exactly when we were in the semi final, which to me, the reasons based on because they're all hypocrites: I wasn't eligible for the blackboard jungle due to my age! Can you imagine how hurt I was when they cancelled my position and changed with someone else who more eligible to be called as 'senior'??

Speaking of discrimination, it reminds me of my mother who was the first person explained to me what discrimination about. Thanking her to educate me this issue at my very young age hence I, at least, acknowledge diversity as a part of society.

She simply told me: "Discrimination is indeed a wound for everyone".

Sadly, what happened to me years ago still exist til today. An easy example can be seen at jobs ads, every so often company put age on the very top of requirements; even more ridicilous they ask for a good looking female in their requirements.

I'm afraid if the society still ageism the potentiality then can be claimed merely by certain ages. If this the case, then society must change their way as whatever claimed by pro-ageisms they can be bizzare.

Unprofessional Agency

Monday, May 16, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

I'm so exicted waiting my holiday to Indonesia comes soon, half of the holiday stuff have been packed: most of them are unused clothes, bags, and shoes. I was thinkng to give those stuff to people in Indonesia as they're might useful for people in Indonesia. The packed stuffing bag assesed approximately over 10 kg, so I still have 8-10 kg for my personal stuff :).

Although the holiday still one month to go, but I make a schedule list on my agenda early so that keeps me to stick with the plan.

I plan to stay in Jakarta with my little boy, just two of us as he'll be on school holiday in June. So, I'm looking for an apartement during my holiday in Jakarta (planning to go to Makassar as well).

Dozen information for renting apartement in Jakarta, but none of them looks like proper agency website. This is another thing in Indonesia: hardly to find legal office for renting apartment.

I found a nice apartement in the Kelapa Gading area in a site, anyway. I sent an email two days ago, asking all the information, and got the the reply the day after. Here is the reply email:

"Makasih bu bintang .., pd tgl tsb masih ada, jika ibu tiga minggu sy diskont 50rb /mlm nya. Mhn di dp dulu bu..spy tgl tsb sdh tdk lagi sy sewakan ke org. Dp rp 700rb. Bisa langsung ketemu sambil lihat unit. Bisa juga di transfer jika ibu jauh  ".

All the words formatted exactly like that. No regards neither the person's names mentioned in the end of the email. It straight away gives a message to me that this can't be managed by a legal agency. However, I replied her back asking her name and the additional information, and here it is:

"Perhari 350rb , jika perbulan 7,5jt "

Short, unclear, unfriendly and definitely very unprofessional reply email of person who willing to make money in their business.

I then decided not to take the apartement soon after reading her email. And you know what? She has just lost her Rp 7,5 millions. I love the apartement, but defintely won't take something from unprofessional management, specially if I know from the very beginning!

Euro Vision 2011

Monday, May 16, 2011 JS Hanniffy 1 Comments

Watching Euro Vision is not a tv program I'm interested in during the weekend. If I have to chose between watching my hubby's program, which is sport, and Euro Vision, then I would rather watching his program.

But there was an exemption for watching the Euro Vision 2011 last night: Ireland was in the final!

I didn't really know about this program before until I incidently met John Logan who is Irish, and winning three times for the Euro Vision,  in the irish pub Koh Samui, in Thailand in which he was apparently on holiday with his wife.

Got some photos of him with me during his visit in the pub :).

That's the only thing from The Euro Vision I interest about, if I didn't meet John Logan, I might not interested at all about Euro Vision.

But last night, I was so exicted watching the Euro Vision. It was due to my hubby watched the program (I wonder why he intended to watch it despite he dislikes them*).

*Jedward is the Irish singers who are twin boys, performed well in the Euro Vision 2011 last night. According to my hubby, they have won in the UK X Factors (Again, he said he dislikes them but he knows everything about them!).

There was something about how the panel Euro Vision of each country taking the point for every performance that slightly droll to me.

I thought each performance was  valued by how talented or great they performed, but then when I followed the given points by each country, I realised that most points were given to their closest country.

Hmm, very easy to guest who's the winner next time then ?

Anyway, Jedward didn't get the throphy for the Euro Vision 2011, but they have performed their best and make many irish people proud, or are they proud of Jedward?

Blogspot Facing Bugs Problem?

Saturday, May 14, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Since two days ago blogspot has been deactived its dashboard. Luckily, I only got this today, and no less than two hours it's fixed. But in some country, like Indonesia, many bloggers admit that the blogs have maintenanced by admins since yesterday.

Since this morning, I've been following blogger status to track what happens on blogspot. According to a blogger status, it's said that the maintenance would not effect the reader while reading your blog: actually it does.

My new template, which is I changed it last night, including the texts and the lays out, they all looked messy. And it's still the same when it's back to normal.

They also announced that some posts since the 11th of Mei will be removed in aims to solve the problems and back it to normal --- which makes me a bit worry of losing my data :(. My new posting backs to normal, but not my new template :(.

They're still in maintaining the problems though, but I can't wait to see my template messy :(.

This is first time ever since I become blogger blogspot face bugs problem. Hopefully, the admins will revise the problems very soon. After all, thank you for all hard works. You're rock!

Thursday, May 12, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

However, I find a new trick to download zip files without installing it into your computer, and it's actually very easy.

Step 1: Download any zip files
Step 2: Open the file and chose the file you wish to select (for template chose the html sheet)
Step 3: Copy and paste to your document file

Hope my finding helps you :).

Just Married?

Saturday, May 07, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Interested in reviewing this issue, Divorce,  which posted in May 2009. The writing was originally inspired from some friends who were most women, concerning how badly marriage and divorce laws in Indonesia.

As my friends, I also have special concerns to this issue, specially divorce cases in Indonesia, and therefore I  have some point of views about  the cause-effect of divorce .

Aside from a speculation that the primary cause for divorce is because the couple differ from each other anymore, there also causal  which connectives with culture, religion, and laws factors.
Since often incure trips to diffrent country, I'm interested in learning  relationship style from different country, and I find  most people in Europe have much more broadminded and valuing a relationship than Indonesia.

This isn't a bias judgment of mine as I've done a little research in this environment issue case study in years.

For example, in Ireland, such as having a serious relationship isn't easy to implemented,  even just want to say the special three words of "I love you", a man could suspend it for years before it comes out of his mouth.

And most couples will take time together longer before they decide to get married, which this the opposite what happens in Indonesia.

Society in Indonesia still commits old fashion considering a marriage, that getting married and having kids is a crucial part of life.

Ironically, most young couples decide to get married without considering its consequences ; it seems just another consideration to think later.

Here is just one of thousand examples how unimportant the consequences of marriage in an unemployeed man's viewpoint.

I have a marriage couple with five kids in my house, they look after my house in Pemalang since 2007, before I took them to work in my house, they had a desperate life. The  marriage couple have three kids, the youngest child aged 8 months, and the oldest aged 9 yo, yet the wife had twins babies pregnancy.

The man used to work as 'tukang becak', and off course with very little income. With that little income, he  surely need perquisite, unfortunately he found no jobs to keep them survive from hunger. Instead of thinking how to reduce his life problems, he added another problem instead, was by having new babies again.

See what I mean by no consequences?

And situation likes story above found in city or country society. It seems no ways for getting out of a philosophy  that "banyak anak banyak rejeki", in other words, the belief of having many kids will bring fortunes is still exist.

Here is the thing, if in rich Europe country, children get welfare from  government, so if you have many kids you have advantage to get more welfares.

But different in Indonesia, welfare goes more to wealthy society.

Meanwhile family plays apart in deciding to get married, even divorce decision sometimes;  but every so often happens when couple decide to get married assigns of the family persuasion.

This underpine condition, if based on inferiority supports could lead such as a dissaster in marriage couple.

My point is, marriage isn't just about a paper signed by both parties. It's a huge deal to think about.

When Cyber Love DOES NOT Exist

Friday, May 06, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Two friends of mine were in love with men from the internet, one of them is very good friend of mine.

My good friend falled for a guy, just after months visiting each other blogs. She believed that this man, who divorced for years and had two kids, was also falling for her.

To me she seems somewhat too naive in finding a mr right. A lot of going on during her feeling to this man, sacrificing my profile into hers was the most ridicilous I've done in my life. As a good friend, surely  I did my best to open her mind, but she just too believed in cyber love.

Until one day she had to face the reality: the man wasn't really falling for her. She'd become frustrated so badly , until I came up with a help by acting as her.

After a year covering from heartbroken cyber cause she's back with a normal life, and now she's married to a good man, a man she knew from secondary school. They're now expecting to have a baby in two months.

Glad that she has a happy life now, I curiously asked her about the guy she falled for, and she simply answered: "It was just stupid".

I have no idea whether cyber love exist or not, but some people  willing to step into a serious relationship with the person they know from the internet, like get married.

When I asked this to my hubby's opinion whether would he in love with me if he knew me from the internet, he  replied  me back: "To know whether he/she is good/bad person you need years to spend  time together with the person. Why do I need to talk with a stranger from the internet, anyway?"

Well, that answer given because my hubby isn't an internet person. Means, he disagree or won't in love and having relationship through internet.

Similiar story happens to my cyber friend, but this time  isn't happy ending like the performer story, I hope just not yet. The guy whom she falls for is a two-faced, teasing her and then dump her into the darkness.

The seamy side of life is when you don't try to move on from the bad place where you stand now.

My cyber friend seems stuck on him; well, she tells me that she doesn't want him anymore, in fact she stills dead certain with her own feeling to him.

My two friends might not the only women have case like that, it is  a trend of society life style nowdays in which most people experience and enjoying within.

In other words, internet gives something that might hard to get in real life, like looking for a soulmate, maybe?

Women In Psychosis (2): Complicated

Thursday, May 05, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Today, I got a call from a friend who lives hours from Dublin. I thought she might left something in my house from the last party, but she suprises me with a news.

Let's call this lady with Jeng X. Jeng X  is having poser with a  woman whom I don't want to be friend with. She confesses the aims of calling me is to get my tenets regarding this person. Although she doesn't clearly tell me the full story but I got the point: she's been hurt with this woman.

Women and gossip are intertwined, and I infer that it's a literal of women. Whoever (women) comes to me with  news, the 75 %  of the news must be about somebody else's.

I don't refuse their story, neither provoking them to keep talking about the person, nor unconcerned. Thus, when Jeng X attempts to look for judgment towards her friend, I tell her what I feel about this person without judging her friend.

In my view, Jeng X's friend is the most psychotic woman I've met. She's not happy to Jeng X's relationship with me, as always, she begins to provoke Jeng X by telling lies.

She's always doing this, provoking people if she's not happy with something; the worst thing is she could defense herself  with lots of swearings no matter what despite people know the true story.

Eventually, Jeng X smells this, something isn't right about her. She makes up a story, which obviously isn't true. I tell Jeng X, do not  do a research for the truths of her story i.e. checking it with her friends.

A woman like Jeng X's friend knows very well how to play a   drama. As I know Jeng X is a good woman, I tell her to be more careful with this woman, also I tell her not to wait until it explodes.

Fortunately, Jeng X's self-awaraness above avarage, so she's easy to heals. With only little advice, she takes my point very quickly.

Becoming counselor by accident like me sometimes aspirational about human behaviour. I, by no means, intend to practise illegally, endevour to help out of their problems although every so often get tired from its complexness.

Women In Psychosis: Fussy

Wednesday, May 04, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

'Women are insane', an unknown philosophy alleges. As an honest woman myself I won't resist its true words.

Surely not based on me because of being insane myself; women are trully insane is based on reality.

No scientific explanation to prove this, but there dozens of examples show how insane women can be, have a look at the society pages, and see what you think of it, or of you perhaps?

My favourite video from the website is Danon light, an ads of food products with a woman drinks the yogurt in highly  exicited  manner.

Perhaps this video reminds all women about how nuts women can be about their size body.
Women every so often aren't happy about their size body. Many of them try hard to get their dream size , and many of them aren't sucess.

When the exercise didn't lead to sucessfull, products lose weight and surgeon become the alternative ones.

I know sounds somewhat desperate, but something that men can't understand about women, women have  always a thousand of answers, which in fact they have no clues to  understand themselves.

Men can be happy to read this,  to read the confession straight from me. And sorry for those women who disagree with me, and I, by no means, intend to against my clan (well, a little bit).

But this finding of  an irish newspaper  is probably  supported  how insane women are: It has discovered on its research that 85 % of irish women are fussy.

Fussy has significance in many ways; but most women would probably defense themselves with excuse situations for why they're being fussy.

But fussy women are just fussy.

If you know there is ingenious ways of losing weight,  e.g.  exercise and have good diet, then why you look for the hard ones?

I don't know how fussy a woman can be, so far my hubby never complains about me being fussy (or maybe he's just  not a fussy hubby himself), but he simply infers: fussy women are  who never happy about everything.

What Does 'Bule' Mean To You?

Tuesday, May 03, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

After the previous posting last week which is alluded to  mixed marriage in society images, as well as  alluding 'bule' issue,  it  raises my interest to discuss further: What does 'bule' really mean to you?

If we look up a dictionary Indonesia-English, the word of 'Bule' probably does not exist; it's kinda a slank word, but slightly rude of the slank word.

The bule itself means expats or foreigns. But refers more to 'white people', such as european western , american and australian, but not japanesse or chinese.

In Ireland, we have laws to call an immigrant. As many immigrants live in Ireland, departement laws attempt to whoever live in Ireland respect diversity.

For example, in my area where we live, Garda (police) have introduced the residents to a program called "Neighbourhood wacthing". All the residents are given a package of information about what its program about.

The information includes about how to avoid other people (specially immigrants) get offended from the way you call them, e.g. we shouldn't call black people with colour people.

I used to call expats with 'bule', just like many of you, I guess. But since I moved to Bali and  making friends with exparts from around the world, I've stopped calling them 'bule'.

My reason why I do that is based on humanity, that 'bule' words sound slightly discriminated.

I don't mean to exaggerate the topic as I believe that you  now might think that it's not a big deal for calling a foreign with 'bule' as you don't think to discriminate them: OR do you really not?

A blog, which is owned by an expat who is ozzy himself, has a very cacthing title: "Bule Juga Manusia". None serious writings on his blog, it's about his daily activity only. All his writings written  in very good  Bahasa slangs.

I highly recommend you to visit his blog. Read for seconds and see if there something can knock your brain.

Passport Control (3): Arrival/Departure Card Indonesia

Sunday, May 01, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

I'll be going home in June and have all documents ready, such as my old and new passports, the previous arrival card and even the the previous ticket! I know sounds a bit strange as I'm still Indonesian citizen myself, but I just can't trust the immigration officers in the airport  sometimes--- not after that incident!

Since I got trouble in Jakarta International airpot last year, I'm now trying to be more careful about every single thing.

By no means, stating that it for general as there may still some good officers. But  there just too many people who every so often can't get out of the immigration officers' scams, whether they are citizens or foreigners.

In May 2010, I arrived in Jakarta international airport, flew from Dublin and had six hours transit in Abu Dhabi. I had my passport checked by the immigration officer, and passed  through the immigration without problems.

In August 2010, after my three months holiday in Indonesia, I and my hubby were in the Jakarta airport  for flight back to Dublin. This time wasn't my hubby had the problem (which happened in 2005), but me.

In the fiskal queue window, an officer checked my passport. I never had a problem before about fiskal, neither anything about passport. The officer  told me a  startle news, that  according to him my passport didn't have  Jakarta airport arrival stamp, I refused his statement and checked the passport by myself, which was true!

I was asked by another officer to entered the fiskal office (as I was very mad at them) , and had my passport checked again for many times. Either he just joked (he shouldn't!) or really meant it, he stated that I couldn't be arrived in Jakarta international airport without arrival stamp.

So it became so clear for me that they were just politicking.

Surely, that the most ridiculous and moron things I'd ever know about immigration officer. If it was really about arrival case, they could have just checked it through the computer as all my departures and arrivals history were there (if the officer put it in the computer!).

A lot of things were going on while they investigated me; but I  tell ya, I was just too brainy for them! I gave them my ticket return and they checked it for soooooooooo long!

If I didn't fight them back, we were probably missed the flight and got a fee charge from the officer for whatsoever.

In December 2010, I arrived again in Jakarta International airport. Ensuring that the officer stamp my passport, I looked at him, he curiously asked me:  "What's wrong, madam?",  and I was ready with the answer: "Just want to ensure you stamp my passport!".

I try to make a list that  I need to do for next month. Nothing really special, but I'd like to share it on my blog :). Here is a list to DOs for next month.

  • Packing unused clothes, bags, shoes, etc and send it to Indonesia
  • Buying gifts for some good friends of mine in Indonesia
  • Continue the gym trainning programme
  • Going to Italy
  • Making a plan for June holiday in Indonesia
I sent a message to a blogger from ??? (ssst, it's secret!) last week, and offering her to meet up in June, somewhere in Indonesia. She seems delighted with the offer: and this will be on the list for June monthly note :).

New Template And Title

Sunday, May 01, 2011 JS Hanniffy 0 Comments

Nothing really interesting to do this weekend so I decide to pimp up my blog. Well, I've planned to do this already since months ago, but only have a chance to do it now.

It's been ages the template of this blog hasn't changed. The previous template was a bit plan  and of course  dry as dust too :).

You see my new template a bit girly and kiddy, I chose it to look a bit different, and keep it fresh :).  And I change the blog's title too, it's no longer JengSRI.CoM, but has changed into JengSRI's BloG :).

I might not use this template for long time as this template is too kiddy for me, therefore I have more stocks for templates in case I'm bored too quickly with the new template :).

Oops, I almost forget to mention that this template design by WPthemes Creator --- just as  my appreciation to the creators :).  Thank you for your most incredible designs!
